The Role

BCEGI UK has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding business in the Northwest.

Duties/responsibilities:

With a flexible approach to supporting all BCEGI activities, preferably but not limited to:

  • Assisting in the management of the contract cost reporting
  • Preparing cash flows for payments
  • Assisting in the preparation of accurate forecasts of project costs to completion and final value
  • Assisting with the preparation of sub-contract documentation
  • Preparing payment certificates for sub-contract work
  • Assisting with the valuation of variations
  • Assisting with the preparation of claims
  • Assisting with the preparation of interim application for payments
  • Assisting in the preparation of accurate monthly cost reports
  • Identifying potential risk and opportunities to the project commercial lead
  • Where there is a project requirement assist with the utilisation of BIM support progress monitoring

  Requirements:

  • At least 2 years experience in a quantity surveying role and within construction
  • Relevant degree, professional qualifications or Chartership
  • Have experience in projects within a joint venture/delivery environment and able to manage multiple, potentially competing stakeholders with integrity and clarity
  • Have had exposure to commercials deals and complex JV arrangements and relationships
  • Abile to apply commercial and strategic thinking to everything that you undertake 
  • Experience of producing high-quality bid documents, with a knowledge and understanding of the bid process from pre-tender (PQQ) through to tendering and construction
  • The ability to develop strong personal relationships with clients/consultants and staff
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels
  • The ability to work cross-functionally, with a collaborative and dynamic approach
  • New build experience over £25m
  • Knowledge of JCT suite of contracts
  • CSCS card
  • Good working knowledge of Housing Grants Construction & Regeneration Act 1996 will be an advantage
