The Role

BCEGI UK has an exciting opportunity for a Document Controller to join our expanding business in the Northwest.


With a flexible approach to supporting all BCEGI activities, preferably but not limited to:

  • Maintaining an electronic document control system to meet the needs of the project and office-based teams
  • Managing the requirements for document control on one or more projects to ensure implementation and compliance
  • Identifying contractual requirements in relation to document control
  • Ensuring accurate control of documentation from preconstruction/PQQ through to completion and archiving
  • Liaising with teams to ensure they have a full understanding of document control and procedures
  • Providing training and instruction as required to ensure established requirements are met
  • Ensuring the procedures are fully implemented in order to meet the requirements of the business
  • Monitoring compliance and advising senior management of individuals failing to observe these systems and procedures
  • Understanding the archive periods for all types of documents
  • Ensuring regular archiving is carried out
  • Understanding of BIM process (PAS1192-2)
  • Working knowledge of BS1192:2007
  • Development of workflows and process maps explaining document control process
  • Managing users and user rights on Asite
  • QA check all drawings/documents uploaded onto Asite and distribute
  • Arranging printing and internal distribution
  • Carrying out any other responsible duties requested by the Senior staff


  • Previous experience of establishing an electronic document control system
  • Working knowledge of Asite (Desirable)
  • Understanding the design and building process and how the projects are developing throughout the building process
  • Is committed to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels
  • Must be a strong team player, with developed communication skills
  • Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity
  • Strong work ethic
  • Demonstrates a passion and excitement for his/her work
  • NVQ or equivalent
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word and PowerPoint
