The Role

BCEGI UK has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Accounts Assistant to join our expanding business in Manchester.

The Junior Accounts Assistant will be responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate financial function within BCEGI, and accommodating the requirements of the finance team.


As a Junior Accounts Assistant, you will support all BCEGI activities, preferably, but not limited to:

  • Processing the sales and purchases invoices, authorising invoices and preparing the payments
  • Entering sales and purchase orders
  • Assisting with monthly journal preparation, including accruals and prepayments, towards Management Accounts preparation
  • Managing and reconciliating the bank, credit card and petty cash
  • Carrying out Financial tasks for BCEGI UK in accordance with local and group requirements
  • Reporting to the Beijing Headquarters via an internal system
  • Following the company’s policies and procedures to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Managing customer queries and disputes (internal and external) to ensure timely resolution and payment
  • Raising manual debit and credit requests, such as recharge invoices and approved requests from the commercial team
  • Keeping a log of sales invoices, credit notes and free of charge invoices raised
  • Preparing and reviewing the general ledger (GL) reconciliations allocated to the role by the deadline in the month end timetable, investigating differences and the progress regarding ongoing issues
  • Preparing and posting the GL standard, month end and correction journals in line with agreed processes and task allocation
  • Assisting other team members as required


  • You will be a good team player with strong communicational skills
  • You will have good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • You will have an analytical mind, eager to learn new skills and take on new challenges
  • You will have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Educated to Degree level, preferably in Finance or Accounting
  • You are fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin), both written and oral
  • Knowledge of Sage or SAP Accounting software will be an advantage
  • Must have right to work in the UK
