The Role

BCEGI UK has an exciting opportunity for a Senior HR Advisor to join our expanding HR Team in the Northwest. You will be based at our head offices in Manchester, but as part of your role you may be required to visit other sites. This opportunity is a temporary ad hoc consultancy role, to advise on best practice, employee relations, complex HR cases and OD.

Working with a small HR Team you will provide efficient and effective HR advice, have excellent communication skills and have the ability to establish quality relationships with key stakeholders, including external providers, management and staff.

You will be methodical and well organised, with the ability to manage a busy workload with conflicting priorities.


With a flexible approach to supporting all BCEGI activities, preferably but not limited to:

  • advising and coaching the in-house HR Team on being experts in their field – including guidance on difficult and complex cases
  • assisting with the review of policies and procedures – helping to communicate to and train our people on them
  • advising on the development of the HR department and how this can be improved
  • advising on the promotion of equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation
  • supporting and advising on HR projects relating to employee performance management, employee engagement, OD, HR strategy and more – producing and analysing data to establish action plans which will build and sustain a positive culture of high performance across the business
  • having and maintaining a detailed and up-to-date level of HR practices as well as an excellent knowledge of employment law and employee relations
  • advising and assisting with a full range of HR tasks throughout the employee lifecycle – focusing on obtaining, developing, engaging, managing and rewarding our employees
  • providing data protection / GDPR guidance confidently and knowledgeably


  • construction background desirable
  • experience setting up and managing a HR department from scratch
  • broad, up-to-date and in-depth understanding of all aspects of HR, including employment law, employee relations, OD and the ability to use information and analyse to create and advise on deliverable strategic plans

  • you will be full or part CIPD qualified with 5+ years’ experience as a Senior HR professional
  • previous experience with data protection and the confidence / ability to advise and guide on GDPR preparation for the HR team would be advantageous
