BCEGI is the main contractor for the £1 billion Middlewood Locks mixed use development, a brand new neighbourhood in Salford and at the gateway to Manchester city centre.

Work on The Railings is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2022 with completion predicted for 2024.

External works are included within the individual plot information. Works include a new unadopted road to adoptable standards with a landscaped podium on each Plot. The main construction methods include pile foundations and ground floor / podium concrete slab, insitu concrete frame and various façade materials including traditional brickwork which varies in type from plot to plot and rainscreen cladding. The roof construction is a hot melt inverted roof.

BCEGI started on-site in 2016 and has bought its wealth of experience of residential construction delivery to the project. The project consists of 571 apartments and includes shops, restaurants and extensive new public realm.The first residents have just moved in, and phase two is currently underway.
